Purchased Memory stick at costco, can't figure out what it is

My son purchased me a 512 MB memory module from Costco, he said it is what I
need. I just like to know what it is, I hope one of you can help me:
I am suppose to have ECC/Parity according to a Diagnostic program I was
using. I was pairing it with another 512 MB memory module, that I still
have in the computer, and I don't know what that one is as well. It does say
512 MB PC266 DDR and also a sticker that says 512MB PC 2100, Now I'm all
confused. The item below, I took back out of my computer, it seemed like it
slowed down when I went up to the 1 gig total memory. Any help is
appreciated..........Peter
