Need to try someones CD ROM player on my Sony PCG-C1XS

If you have a Sony Vaio PictureBook model # PCG-C1XS, and you have the
original external CD ROM for it, please let me hook it up to my Sony one
time to see if it works with my system. I can't get my CD ROM to work,
although all system settings report no conflict. I just like to know if it
is a driver or a part that is not working with my system. It always worked
before, then I lost my power supply to the CD ROM and ordered a new one from
Sony. (wow 127.-) But I can't get the darn thing to read a CD now. I have
the PC card interface of course and all that kind of stuff hooked up
correctly. It shows up in "my Computer" when I click on it, the CD ROM I
mean, but it just will not read a CD. All the lights are on , the busy light
on the CD ROM, the power light is on. So my deduction, if the same thing
will happen with the equipment from another Sony, then I think I know it is
basically a driver or something not hardware related. At least that is my
simple explanation. Any help is appreciated...........Peter

Peter, I emailed you. Give me a call. I have the same Picturebook you
do and a CD rom. Everything is working on my setup.
